Member Spotlight: Fountain Ranch

Some places tell a story the moment you arrive. Fountain Ranch 1911 is one of them.

Located in Salyer and nestled between the mountains, the Trinity River, and wide open fields, Fountain Ranch 1911 is a working cattle ranch that has been part of the community for generations. Owned by Macky and Dena McCullough, along with their daughters and sons-in-law, the ranch continues a family legacy dating back to 1911.

That legacy is woven into the history of the area. The family’s ancestors helped build the first bridge in Salyer and later contributed to construction of the current bridge connecting Fountain Ranch Road to Highway 299. Today, the McCullough family is proud to preserve both the land and its rich history while sharing it with visitors.

In addition to being a functioning cattle ranch, Fountain Ranch 1911 has become a place where people gather to celebrate life’s meaningful moments. The property includes four homes and a beautifully restored historic venue that hosts weddings, retreats, family reunions, and overnight stays, with glamping accommodations planned for the future.

For the McCullough family, opening the ranch to guests is a way to share a place that has been part of their family’s story for generations. More than a century after their ancestors first settled the land, Fountain Ranch 1911 continues to honor that legacy by welcoming others to create memories of their own.
