Meet the Board

Meet the hard-working and dedicated individuals who make up the Willow Creek Chamber of Commerce Board.  They are local citizens, just like you, who love this area and strive to bring out the best in all they do.

The board positions are voted on once a year, in December, and anyone interested in serving the local community is welcome to participate! In the meantime, why not join us at one of our monthly board meetings?  They are held on the last Wednesday of each month beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the Community Services District.  Everyone is welcome to attend and we encourage your input as we strive to make positive changes for our community.

Join the Chamber now!

Tangie Markle, President Willow Creek Chamber of Commerce
Tangie Markle, President

Being born and raised in Humboldt County, I developed a sense of community and eagerness to support our local community.  The best way I know to do that is to be part of the Chamber of Commerce and have served as either Board President or Board member since 2008.  As Broker and Owner of Humboldt Land Company Real Estate I feel even more driven to help our community thrive by being a part of the Willow Creek Chamber of Commerce.

Trina Cardoza, Vice President
Trina Cardoza, Vice President

In June 2008, Trina moved to this area after receiving the Member Services Manager position at Coast Central Credit Union. She has been involved with the Willow Creek Chamber of Commerce since 2009. She loves this community and everything it has to offer. The changing seasons, small community vibe and our proximity to the river are some of Trina's favorite things about this area. She enjoys working with the Willow Creek Chamber of Commerce to make our community an even better place to live and work.

Art Tonkin, Secretary

Born in Renton, Washington, Art moved to Willow Creek with his family in 1951.  He has been a very active member of our community since setting up residence here.  Art served 23 years as Chief of the Willow Creek Fire Department, served 3 terms on the Klamath-Trinity Joint Unified School District Board, was a partner in Tonkin Construction, managed Napa Auto Parts and, most recently, took over management of the Willow Creek Golf and Country Club in 2004 with his wife, Violet.  Art and Vi have been married 58 years and have 3 children, 6 grandkids, 5 great-grandkids and 2 great-great grandkids!  Art most appreciates the country atmosphere in Willow Creek, this place he calls home.

manuel mattz

Manuel J. Mattz runs a small company called Native Attention LLC, a digital public relations business. Before making the transition to business owner, he served the Hoopa Tribal Chairman Ryan Jackson for +2.5 years as his Administrative Support. By committing time and energy as a board member, he wants to encourage collaboration between Hoopa and Willow Creek. Through this action, he hopes to improve economic prosperity for both interconnected communities.

He looks forward to attending additional Willow Creek events, supporting the community's growth, and meeting more members of the community.
